Shaunak250LEGISLATURE ADOPTS BILL TO PRESERVE
FUNDING FOR WORKFORCE TRAINING

n EMCC praised for its successful workforce model

The Mississippi House and Senate have adopted a bill to preserve the $20 million Workforce Enhancement Training Fund. The WET Fund helps community colleges provide workforce training for both traditional and non-traditional students in partnership with local industry. Bill Crawford,
a former legislator and president of The Montgomery Institute
in Meridian, was quick to praise the Legislature for its quick, decisive action – and held up East Mississippi Community College’s workforce efforts as a statewide model. His remarks were published on the Opinion Page in the Jan. 14 edition
of The Hattiesburg American.
