EMCC nursing students score big! Print E-mail

ADN101508Bragging on my students …

“I wanted to let everyone know that 100 percent of EMCC’s nursing students have passed the NCLEX-PN exam. By comparison, the Mississippi pass rate was 89 percent. You will also hear this test called the state board exam. The acronym stands for National Council Licensure Exam – Practical Nurses. Students like Shannon Rhea and Lisa Wilcher, in the photo at left, must take and pass the exam before they can work as nurses. The difficulty level for the state board exam is raised every five years. In April of this year, the level was raised, and our students were part of the first group to take the new test.”

                                                Pat Clowers, LPN program director
