Alumni and friends of East Mississippi Community College gathered Sept. 22 for the 13th
Annual Old Waverly Golf Classic. Sponsored by the “Bull” Sullivan Division of the
EMCC
Development Foundation, the tournament drew 135 golfers from all over the
state. The “Bull”
Sullivan Division is chaired by Buddy Faulkner, who was the surprise
recipient this year of
a special award honoring his longtime commitment and service
to EMCC and Lion alumni.

EMCC grabs share of North Division lead Print E-mail

East Mississippi 27, Northwest 19

Mackey4web   "The East Mississippi Lions grabbed a share of the North Division lead with a 27-19 home triumph over divisional foe Northwest Mississippi Thursday night (Sept. 25) at Sullivan-Windham Field on the EMCC campus. Now 4-1 overall and 2-0 in division play, the Lions are tied atop the North Division standings with 19th-ranked Coahoma (3-1, 2-0), who fell from the unbeaten ranks Thursday by dropping a 17-7 decision at South Division member Copiah-Lincoln ..."

EMCC prepares for Scholars' Olympiad Print E-mail
GTSOmeetingSCHOLARS' OLYMPIAD
High school counselors met with EMCC organizers to plan for the 3rd Annual Scholars’ Olympiad to be held Feb. 6 at the college’s Mayhew campus. EMCC employees who hosted the 1 p.m. meeting were members of the Scholars’ Olympiad Committee: Elizabeth Stringer, chair; Virginia Huff, vice-chair; Michael Black; Marilyn Maddox; and Debi Valentine.  High school counselors attending the meeting were: Laurie Davis, McKellar Tech Center; Frances Dawkins, Oak Hill Academy; and Lona Rosetti, West Point Career and Technology.  For more information about the Scholars’ Olympiad, call Michael Black, (662) 243-1974.

   "East Mississippi Community College has earned the distinction of having two national players of the week in different sports during the same week.  Freshman quarterback Randall Mackey and first-year midfielder/forward Nikeisha Noel have collected NJCAA Player of the Week honors in football and women’s soccer for their respective efforts during the past week ..."
